There is no hard evidence that the “Kardashian Curse” is an actual thing, but my god all the speculation in the world is pointing towards it being a thing. The urban myth stems from the family’s fondness for dating athletes, and the sheer number of players that have penetrated the family fortress is quite impressive.
Many of the athletes they have dated had their careers basically disintegrate after dating the Kardashians, and it’s either a strange coincidence or some serious sorcery. My guess is that it’s not some sort of witchcraft, but the Kardashian lifestyle doesn’t necessarily go hand in hand with one that would be desirable for a professional athlete.
Here’s a list of some of the most notable athletes that have apparently been affected by the Kardashian Curse.
Probably one of the most famous Kardashian curse couples is Khloe and Lamar. We saw Lamar go from Sixth Man of the Year in 2011 to a complete NBA burnout.
They began dating in 2009, and would get married in the same year, but it went downhill from there. Odom would get consumed in the entertainment lifestyle, even having a reality show Khloe and Lamar. After a drug overdose in 2015 that sent him into a coma, he hasn’t been able to regain any hope of a comeback to the NBA.
Back in 2015, Khloe was spotted trying her luck in the older age bracket. Rick Fox was a first-round draft pick of the Boston Celtics in 1991 and is a three-time NBA Champion.
The 48-year-old is obviously still a stud because not only has he dated Khloe, but also actresses Vanessa Williams and Eliza Dushku, amongst others.
Rumors are swirling about Tristan Thompson and Khloe Kardashian having a baby. The two are currently dating, and have been since 2016.
Now Thompson did not play well in the NBA Finals and that was evident to just about everybody. Eight points in the first three games of finals? Yikes. Was it the curse showing its face? Only the Kardashians know.
After trying to save the world with a can of Pepsi, and promptly failing, Kendall Jenner moved on. Jenner was linked to NBA player Jordan Clarkson for a little bit before moving onto bigger fish.
My guess is that Clarkson knew his third year in the NBA was going to be pivotal for his career and didn’t want to risk the potential curse to be weighing on him externally.
